Rekha Bhardwaj released her first album in 2004 titled "Ishq Ishq" which won critical acclaim. Her songs Omkar, especially Namaka, which was written by Gulzar and composed by Vishal, won the honors. She credits them both with his success. She Lata Mangeshkar believes her idol.
The song 'Rot ki Jogan "from the album, Ishq Ishq conceived in 1994, almost 10 years before he was released when Vishal Bhardwaj had begun to compose Baba Bulleh Shah's poetry of the Rekha's album. She used to go with Vishal to music sessions with Gulzar for his film Maachis Gulzar there one day said he would write the words for Rekha's album.
