Ricci was the first recognition and praise as a child star for her role as Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family and Addams Family Values, and her role as Kat in Casper. Ricci has recently appeared in the films Black Snake Moan, Penelope, Speed Racer, New York, I love you and After.Life opposite Liam Neeson.

A critic for the Bergen Record discovered Ricci at the age of eight in a school play at Edge Mont School in Montclair, New Jersey.Critic's son was originally cast in the role, but Ricci got him to hit her and told him, he lost the role to her as part of his punishment. Ricci later appeared in films like the independent hit Buffalo '66, John Waters 'Pecker, and Don Roos' The Opposite of Sex.
